Harrison Apple Tree on Standard sized root stock

This is a small, yellow-green cider apple with distinctive specks and a long stem. Gained popularity as Harrison’s Sparkling Newark Cider in the 1800’s. It was sometimes called Newark Champagne because of the wonderful cider it produced. Harvested in late fall and stores very well.

Originated in Newark, NJ in the early 1700’s. Almost went extinct during the prohibition era. Rediscovered in the 1970’s and is now starting its spread around the U.S. and being highly praised by this next generation of cider makers and drinkers. Vigorous, productive tree.
