Despite the name, it is a large Baldwin-type apple. This all-purpose apple has a bright yellow background, striped and splashed with bright red. Overall look of rich red. Whitish-yellow flesh with a good crunch. Late season apple that stores well.

Originated in NH in the early 1800’s. Grown in areas where Baldwin is not cold hardy enough.
